Carpeting like most
other textiles is produced under tension. When
installed the proper tension is
necessary so that the loom will properly function.
Proper tension will produce a uniform carpet
from one portion to the next.
Wrinkles
or buckles can be unsightly as well as create
a tripping hazard, contribute to accelerated
carpet wear, and cause the carpet to delaminate.
Experience shows buckles, wrinkles and
bubbles do not normally occur with properly stretched
in carpet. Ripples can also be caused by
dragging heavy furniture across the carpet or
by sliding and pulling of carpet in traffic areas
caused by walking over a period of time. If installation
was not completed according to CRI
Standards premature ripples or loose areas will
be evident.
